How many ducks should I purchase?
Ducks are sociable animals, so it’s imperative that duck-keepers keep at least two birds. We generally sell a minimum of 2 birds at a time, although in certain circumstances (e.g. you already have ducks) we may reduce this to a single bird. We would always recommend keeping at least three ducks, chickens or geese in total, however we recognise that this is not always practical.

Are ducks noisy?
Some duck breeds can be noisy (Call Ducks, for example, are very loud!) but the majority of breeds are relatively quiet and placid. It’s important to remember that only female call ducks are noisy, and so some of our clients prefer to purchase a group of male birds rather than a mixed flock.

Are ducks good with children?
Most breeds of duck, particularly Call Ducks, love children, and will be more than happy to feed out of your child’s hand. This trait can be nurtured and encouraged by regularly handling your birds.

Are your birds good quality?
Yes, the majority of our breeding ducks and geese are exhibition quality, with some having been shown at major shows, such as the National, Federation, the British Waterfowl Show and Staffordshire Championship. Many have all received prize cards at shows. We are proud to breed from some of the country’s top stock, with internationally-recognised bloodlines present within our flocks.

Are geese aggressive?
During the breeding season, ganders can be aggressive. However, we have had clients in the past who have hand-raised their geese from day-olds and the birds are now perfectly tame.

I purchased my birds from your team - are they guaranteed to win at a show? They are breeder quality.
Sadly we can never guarantee that your birds will win a prize - judging always incorporates a level of subjectivity, and other factors like good preparation play a part. However, you can be assured that we strive to supply all of our clients with high-quality stock, and we are always willing to guide you through the exhibiting process!
